The number Seven means different things to different people. It is the days of the week, fascinatingly an odd number thats symbolises completion. Seven can represent grace and one of the ancient prophets refers to God's love as shining seven times brighter than the sun. When I wrote this piece in 7/8 time, it simply felt uplifting. I was jamming and the track started to emerge. Ben Reed then added fabulous bass parts and brought the melody alive in the upper register and then I thought, what this needs is trumpet! So I called Graeme Flowers and wow... Seven Times took off! Massive thanks Ben and Graeme on this.

Drums, percussion and basses were recorded at my place www.drumtrack.uk and horns in Graeme's home studio. The video background starts with images from a wonderful painting given to me during lockdown by Betty Spackman from Canada. The rest of the video footage was shot around Brighton, Hove and parts of London along with a few archive clips. I also had lots of fun asking a few complete strangers if they'd be happy to be in it.
